I Do!

It’s that time of year. Love is in the air. Many happy couples have said “I do” and are now preparing for their big day.

Did you know that a number of Savage Mill merchants provide services for brides and weddings? See our Weddings page for the full listing.

Cherie Sustainable Bridal should be one of the first stops. They stand ready with a large selection of new and gently-used bridal gowns and accessories. All items have been donated to Cherie, and proceeds from sales benefit their parent organization, Success in Style. Also located here at Savage Mill, Success in Style changes lives by providing suits and business attire to those in crisis. Shopping at Cherie is an opportunity to make a sustainable choice that’s easy on the planet and betters the community.

Online apppointments are required to give Cherie’s bridal consultants a chance to provide personalized service to each bride. Once you arrive at Savage Mill, Cherie is easy to find, occupying a prominent corner of the Old Weave building which they moved into in Spring 2023 after outgrowing their original Savage Mill location.

Stepping into Cherie is a transformative experience, a testament to the vision and creativity of the Success in Style team. With an abundance of windows and clerestories, the space is awash in natural light throughout the day. The beautiful moss wall, constructed by Xanadu Botanicals and Design, contrasts beautifully with the white and cream gowns around it.

Dresses in sizes 00 to 22 are arranged in racks throughout the space. An elegant sitting area at the entrance and well-appointed dressing rooms welcome guests. Cherie recommends that a bride brings no more than three guests to facilitate the decision-making process.

We spoke with bridal consultant Allie to learn more.

“We typically meet with 20-30 brides a week. We have an incredible selection of gowns and a wonderful team of consultants who love helping people of all shapes, ages, and sizes find their dream gown.

“My job is filled with joy. Our mission draws in the most incredible people and it’s such a treat to help them create a fun memory on the road to their big day. Some of my favorite brides have stayed in touch long after their weddings. They’ve even re-donated their dresses!

“Every gown in the shop has been donated to us and proceeds from dress sales benefit the mission at Success in Style. At SIS, we provide wardrobes and job training to individuals in our community who are experiencing crisis and are looking for employment. Shopping at Cherie is good for your neighbor, wedding fund, and the environment.”
