New Weave Commons Performer Application

Savage Mill’s New Weave Commons is an updated, reimagined space in the middle of the Mill’s beautifully restored New Weave building. Surrounded by a variety of small retail shops and other local businesses, this intimate space encourages passersby to linger and socialize or enjoy the atmosphere around them.

Local musicians and other performers are invited to apply to perform in the space on Saturday afternoons. Selected performers will receive a $150 honorarium on the day of performance. Funding limits performances to one a month.

Terms and Conditions

Performance Date *

• If selected, Artist will be given a list of available Saturday afternoon performance dates.

Honorarium *

• Artist will divide the $150 honorarium between the performers.

Location *

• Artist will arrive 30 minutes prior to performance start time and set up in area designated.

Equipment *

• Artist will provide own equipment and sound, if desired, and is responsible for own setup and teardown. The Management is not responsible for any damage to the equipment. Sound should be kept to a reasonable level to ensure guests can still talk with shop owners and interact with one another easily.

Power *

• Outlets are provided. Artist will provide a mat to cover any cords across walkways.

Inclement Weather *

• The Mill follows Howard County Government closure policy due to inclement weather. In case of closure, Artist will be notified by 8 am the morning of the performance, and an alternate date will be discussed.

Promotion *

• Artist and Savage Mill will jointly promote Artist's participation in the Weekend Music on the Commons.

Liability Waiver *

• Artist shall indemnify, hold harmless and defend Management from and against any and all costs, expenses (including reasonable counsel fees), liabilities, losses, damages, suits, actions, fines, penalties, claims or demands of any kind and asserted by or on behalf of any person or governmental authority, arising out of or in any way connected with the Artist’s performance at the Mill. Management shall not be liable to Artist on account of (i) any failure by Artist to perform any of the agreements, terms, covenants or conditions of this Agreement required to be performed by Artist, (ii) any failure by Artist to comply with any statutes, ordinances, regulations or orders of any governmental authority, or (iii) any accident, death or personal injury, or damage to property, which shall occur in or about the Artist’s location during their setup and performance, except the gross negligence and willful act of the Management, its employees or agents. Artist shall also pay all costs, expenses and reasonable attorneys' fees that may be incurred or paid by Management in enforcing the covenants and agreements of this Agreement.
