Spring Forward with Savage Mill

Yesterday’s time change and the lengthening days promise that warmer weather is on its way. If you’re invigorated by the signs of life and change in the natural world, why not get out and try something new? Here are a few fresh things to check out at Savage Mill.

Rise and Shine! It’s More than Java Time!

After weeks of keeping it under wraps – although there were some pretty good hints along the way! – we’re happy to announce that More Than Java Cafe (formerly on Main St. in Laurel) has joined the Savage Mill community! Owners Tabitha and Ronnie Clark are renovating the long-vacant Eatery in preparation for opening later this spring. Look for breakfast and lunch options including fruit smoothies, fresh squeezed juices, sandwiches (their Jamaican jerk chicken, egg and cheese on coco bread is justifiably famous!), salads and homemade desserts.

International Women’s Day

Friday, March 8 was International Women’s Day, a global celebration of the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. Savage Mill is proud to be a supportive home to a number of women-owned businesses.

Musical Chairs

This month Omnihedral finalizes their move from the New Weave loft into additional space in the Cotton Shed, making way for The Portrait Studio, a joint venture between Anne Kelley Studio and Chris Marcinek Photography. They love to help clients create ideal photographic solutions for their personal and business goals. We look forward to their continued involvement with Mill-wide events such as Girls Night Out (pictured).

In the Community: Savage Farmers Market

Quirky Savage Mill

One of the first sights that visitors to Savage Mill marvel at is the Big Chair. It’s a huge draw for people of all ages (including the grandmother of our Marketing Director, Julie, pictured). There’s a lot of interesting history around the Big Chair – keep an eye out for our upcoming blog interview with the owner, Caplan’s Auction and Appraisal. In the meantime, stop by for a photo on it with your family or friends!
