The Savage Fencing Club will be hosting its annual Drinko de Mayo fencing tournaments on Saturday and Sunday, May 4-5. These tournaments are for “veteran” fencers, i.e., those 40 years and older. Don’t be fooled by their ages, though – some of these fencers will have earned medal (including gold) in national championships, and some of them will also have competed in world championships.
Winners will receive engraved medals and a bottle of the Savage Fencing Club’s own fine wine.
The Mill will be crowded that day, but if you can find a spot in the “observation gallery” overlooking the club, admission is free, and you will see some of the best fencers in the Middle Atlantic displaying their skills.
