About This Savage Mill Business

Located in a renovated Cotton Shed of Historic Savage Mill, once a textile mill built in the early 1800’s. Art of Hair (The Salon) has a modern decor with a bit of vintage flair. Forget what you know about hair salons, Art of Hair is everything – but, part art gallery, part lounge, part home, most of all a place where you feel at ease. Art of Hair is a Paul Mitchell Focus Salon – their focus is you and your hair needs. The owner has created a salon that is unique, beautiful and an extremely private place.

Experience the highly trained artists behind The Color Bar, unwind at The Wash House, and relax in their Comfort Lounge while allowing their stylists to provide top-notch cuts, color and cutting-edge hair treatments.

We're looking forward to another weekend of holiday festivities here at Savage Mill. Join us for a big highlight: the return of a Flash Mob Parranda on Saturday, Dec. 13, 6-7pm!
A parranda is Puerto Rico’s joyful twist on holiday caroling—filled with music, laughter, and community spirit. Traditionally held in homes, our friends with @cultura_plenera are bringing it to the heart of Savage Mill for a one-hour musical celebration you won’t want to miss.

Sunday afternoon's Santa Heim history tour enjoyed this stop on the newly-repainted and illuminated Bollman Truss Railroad Bridge. The group spent an hour exploring sites that were part of the 1948-51 Santa Novelties Christmas ornament factory legacy.
Check out the "Santa Heim, Merryland: A Savage Christmas Story" exhibition, on display in the New Weave building through Jan. 9!

🌟 Thank you for a beautiful Bridge Lighting! 🌟
What an incredible night at Savage Mill. Thank you to everyone who bundled up, came out, and helped us welcome the season with this cherished community tradition.

A very special thank you to @aardvarkconcepts for installing the lights so beautifully, and to @hocorec for their hard work in bringing the bridge restoration across the finish line in time for Saturday.

We were also so happy to welcome Nana from Bollman Bridge Elementary as our Cheermeister this year. She brought such joy and excitement to the countdown.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to @hocogovexec Calvin Ball. It has been an honor to light the bridge with him year after year, and we are so grateful for his continued support of this tradition and of our Savage community.

We also want to thank @visithocomd, @howardcountyeda, and @councilwomancmr Christiana Rigby for joining us and for everything they do to uplift our small businesses and our historic town.

Thank you as well to the Savage Community Association for being such an important part of this annual celebration. And a huge shoutout to Tori the Elf for leading everyone to the bridge and bringing an extra dose of holiday magic.
