Alumia Design Studio offers a diverse range of handmade, unique jewelry pieces, each meticulously crafted and accompanied by a meaning card that details the symbolism behind the design.
We specialize in making custom jewelry, allowing customers to add a personal touch with carved names or unique designs. Our services extend to gold plating, repair services, ring engravings, and more.
Additionally, Alumia hosts various workshops and lessons suited for individuals and groups, including Saw Your Own Pendant, Copper Wire Tree on Crystal, Learn Plier work - Beads and Findings Fiesta, and a whole catalog for learning different techniques in the metalwork world of jewelry making.

Bead Soup
Bead Soup is a bead store that sells seed beads, kits to make beaded jewelry and more, crystals, beads one by one and so much more. We hold monthly get-togethers so you can hang out with other beaders. These get-togethers include bead embroidery, needle weaving, Delicas and an open beading session where you can work on anything. There are also monthly Zoom classes for those who like to take classes from home. We host events with bead designers from around the world and trunk shows with various artists that include cabochons, lamp work beads and their designer bead kits.

Candids & Colors Photography is a woman/mom owned and operated business. The company was born in 2012 in Monterey, CA. Desiree (The Photographer) & Ashley (The Booking Coordinator) have been working side by side since 2017. The studio specializes in maternity and newborn sessions. They happily welcome milestones, cake-smashes, and family sessions. J’Adorn Designs
J’Adorn Designs is the jewelry design studio of artist, jeweler, and metalsmith Alison Jefferies, who discovered her passion for personalized accessories while planning her own wedding in 2011. Dissatisfied with the jewelry offerings she found at bridal shops, she opted to make a set of matching jewelry for her bridesmaids instead. Just a few months later, Alison opened an online shop to sell her designs.
Since its founding in 2012, J’Adorn Designs has grown into a full-service jeweler specializing in delicate jewelry and hair accessories using colorful gemstones and often featuring botanical forms. We offer a full line of ready-to-wear jewelry and hair accessories as well as custom and bespoke designs. Recently we have expanded our line beyond women’s jewelry to include masculine and gender-inclusive pieces. J’Adorn Designs is an affirming and welcoming business for people from all walks of life, and designer Alison Jefferies considers it an honor to create wearable pieces that honor each individual story.

Leona’s Sewing Studio
Leona’s Sewing Studio is located in Suite 214 of the Carding Building, one of oldest buildings of Historic Savage Mill. In the early 1800s, all of the functions of the textile mill were housed in the Carding Building, including processing raw cotton, carding, spinning and weaving.
Now, Leona’s Sewing Studio will take its place by returning a small part of the Carding Building to some of the original textile-related business functions. Leona's Sewing Studio offers a rich portfolio of sewing, design and quilting courses for the beginner, intermediate and advanced level sewer. The portfolio includes, but is not limited to, sewing, quilting, pattern drafting and sewing machine repair. Leona’s Sewing Studio also offers custom clothing services for just about anyone. However, the main focus is designing custom clothing for clergy and liturgical dancers. One of the primary principles of Leona’s Sewing Studio is to give back to the community. Special projects are planned that pertain to community service both internationally and in the local area. Leona’s Sewing Studio is geared to helping America regain hope and prosperity through sewing and quilting, a relaxing and rewarding life skill. We hope you will join us for class as we re-create and re-connect with textile history at the Historic Savage Mill.
Raisa Motaher Private Art Studio
As an artist, Raisa Motaher uses her space as a private studio to produce a wide variety of works. She is open to experimenting with a wide range of media, including paints, paper, canvas, drawing, and digital illustration. She works as a marketing graphic designer in addition to owning a small business on Etsy where she sells wedding signs and personalized crafts.
Raven & Rose Studios
Raven and Rose Studios is Savage Mill’s premier tattoo studio, voted Best of Howard County 2023. Opened in 2021 by artist Hannah Everhart, we aim to create a comfortable, safe, and inclusive tattoo experience for our clients while offering our artists the freedom to work on their own terms. Appointments and artist information are available online.
SA Parker Fine Furniture and Box Maker
At SA Parker Fine Furniture, we specialize in crafting exceptional handcrafted furniture and boxes, using traditional tools, techniques, and finishing practices. Our master craftsman, Steve Parker, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to each timeless and elegant piece. Our offerings include a diverse range of humidors, stationary, jewelry, and keepsake boxes, each uniquely handmade with meticulous attention to detail.
We source the highest quality wood materials from ethical suppliers, using instrument-grade solid hardwoods and premium hardware. Studio JmcG
Jessica has spent the last 31 years as a Navy spouse and has enjoyed traveling throughout the world and all around the United States, usually en route to the next coastal city she would call home.
Form, line, shape and color have always intrigued her. She first became drawn to jewelry at one of the early stops in her travels when she worked as a jewelry and accessories buyer for a major department store. She was amazed by the fabrication and design process. The possibilities of what could be made seemed endless. This awe and wonder led her to take classes, which led to more classes and a life of learning and making.
Jessica’s work focuses on her love of color, texture and geometric form. She uses enamel, gemstones, silver, gold and patina in her jewelry. She adds texture to her work by using photographs taken during her travels, which she uses to create texture plates etched with the images.
Jessica studied Studio Art with a concentration in Metals at Monterey Peninsula College in California. She has also enjoyed perfecting her craft by taking classes at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts and The New Approach School for Jewelers in Tennessee, Pocosin Arts School of Fine Craft in North Carolina and Metalwerx in Massachusetts. She is currently a community member and president of the board of directors at the Baltimore Jewelry Center. She works as a studio jeweler and sells her work through her company Studio JmcG Jewelry, at national art shows, in galleries and on her website.

I love being a wedding photographer in DC and feel very fortunate that my grandparents and parents, were so active in photographing our lives and documenting all those precious moments for us. Growing up I didn’t get it, I can tell you there is more than one photo of me with a bored and anxious look on my face. I can still hear my dad, who has now passed, say “if you don’t sit still we will be here all day”. As an adult, I now get it. Last night’s opening of Threads of Heritage, the exhibition curated by Leona`s Sewing Studio, was filled with connection, conversation, and powerful storytelling through fabric and design. Seeing our community come together to experience these works was truly special.
A heartfelt thank you to @hocogovexec, @councilwomancmr, and @howardcountyeda Jennifer Jones for joining us and for sharing such meaningful words as we opened this exhibition together.

We’re honored to kick things off with Threads of Heritage, a powerful fabric exhibition curated by Leona`s Sewing Studio that celebrates culture, history, and the stories woven into every thread.
