Happy 10th Work Anniversary to Mike Foster, Facilities Manager here at Savage Mill. Mike knows these buildings and grounds inside out. He`s fixed leaky roofs, drafty windows, faulty HVAC and clogged pipes; built out tenant spaces and overseen recent renovations to give the space a fresh look; and been a competent and charming Mr. Fix It, always ready with a joke and a smile. The next time you see Mike, please be sure to congratulate him on making Savage Mill such a fun place to work and visit!
Thanks to our new tenant @savellevenue, the walkway from the Big Lot to the Great Room is now flanked by 100 baby limelight hydrangeas. They`re growing rapidly, and will transform the space into a vibrant, dense path of flowers over the next couple of years. The flowers begin as lime green in late June, turn to creamy white, and transition to shades of pink and burgundy by October.

Last Sunday`s screening of two short documentaries, "Relentless" and "Eroding History," highlighted local artist/activist Joyce Scott and the environmental justice issues facing Black communities on the Eastern Shore`s Deal Island. The audience stayed for a long conversation with the filmmakers and directors afterwards. Thank you to @achungphoto for bringing these important films to Savage Mill.
Our New Weave Commons was alive with rich swirls of color and talent during Leona`s Sewing Studio`s fashion show the other weekend. What a colorful and fitting addition to "Threads of Heritage" and the Black History Month Celebrations here at Savage Mill! Special thanks to @mccraemultimedia for the photos.
Due to the weather, and for the safety of our businesses and patrons, Savage Mill will be closing at 2pm today. Dive Bar and Grille will remain open until 4 PM.
Thank you for understanding and please stay safe.
Have you heard? We’ve got a new date for André Chung’s film screening!

Last year marked the 75th anniversary of the Winer family`s purchase of Savage Mill. The restoration and renovation that they started in the 1980s was a long-term investment in a vision that has become a reality: a model of adaptive reuse and stewardship that today is home to a vibrant community of small businesses.
